VoiceCatcher, the Portland based anthology featuring new and established women writers of diverse perspectives, voices, ages, orientations, and experiences–is seeking submission for their 5th volume of poetry and prose.
The deadline for submissions is March 31, 2010. VoiceCatcher only publishes “new writing that has not been previously published,” and “only accepts submissions from women who consider themselves local Portland, OR area writers.” For further guidelines and submission details, please visit the VoiceCatcher website.

When compiling the list of events for this week I came across a couple new literary journals published right here in PDX that I wanted to pass along.
The first is and&review, an “arts publication” from Mia Nolting and Rachel Peddersen. Here is a bit more taken from their about page:
and&review is an arts publication based in Portland, Oregon that shares work from local and international artists and writers. We compile work that loosely adheres to a chosen theme for each issue, showing both contemporary trends in art-making as well as work from the past. As readers, researchers, artists, and designers, we are interested in collections—connected ideas that can be compiled and offered as food for thought. and&review exists in both printed and online formats. Untitled Country Review, Scot Siegel’s new poetry journal, is seeking submissions for its May 2010 publication. The journal is published quarterly in February (submit by January 15), May (by April 15), August (by Sept 15), and November (by October 15), and is seeking:
evocative (and provocative) poetry that effectively and eloquently reconciles the two (seemingly at-odds) terms in the journal’s title. In other words, we are interested in poetry that knows no boundaries, and that is at once challenging and accessible. We are interested in poetry that matters…
