About

Reading Local is a quest to find everything there is to know about the Portland, Oregon “book scene.”  Including profiles of Portland based writers, the publications authored by these writers, coverage of book related events, reviews of Portland bookstores, and many other topics.  See the introductory post here.

The initial plan was to have each day focus on a different vantage point of the scene (i.e. Monday being devoted to Portland Authors; Tuesday dedicated to books by those authors; Wednesday reserved for Portland readers, etc.), but once I started posting I realized there was too much to cover to restrict the blog in such a way.  So now it’s a mixture of daily posts featuring the events for that day, and then whatever else I come across either through my RSS reader or otherwise.  If you have ideas for topics you would like covered please leave them in the comments below, or contact me.

Also, don’t forget to check out the great work Matt Briggs and his contributors are doing with Reading Local: Seattle.  And if you are located in any of these areas and would like to become a Reading Local blogger yourself, please contact me.
