I’m involved in a new venture, hosting an internet radio show. It’s part the new Health Beat Radio on the Lucy Radio Network. My show is called Sparkle: The Teresa Bergen Creativity Hour. I’ll be interviewing creative types about their inspiration, process, and the place of creativity in overall health. This is a startup, so it’s still mysterious who will listen. Perhaps you will!

Sparkle airs on Saturdays at 3PM EST/noon PST. This Saturday’s guest is Willa Schneberg. Willa is a poet, sculptor and clinical social worker who lives in Portland, Oregon. She has several volumes of poetry out – Box Poems, In The Margins Of The World, and Storytelling in Cambodia. Her poetry has appeared in the American Poetry Review, Tikkun, Michigan Quarterly Review, Southern Poetry Review, among others. She’s also won lots of fabulous awards. From 1992-1993, she worked with the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia, first as a District Electoral Supervisor setting up registration sites in Phnom Penh, and then as a Medical Liaison Officer, providing counseling and arranging repatriation for UN volunteers from member countries. On Saturday we’ll talk about how growing up in her particular family in New York shaped her later creative life, and about her experiences bringing art to people in therapy, and bringing therapy to artists.

If you miss the show and want to listen later, podcasts should be available at the Health Beat site before too long.
