Many authors and aspiring authors are gearing up for the annual Willamette Writers Conference, coming up on August 6th-8th. The conference includes the opportunity to pitch ideas for screenplays and books to agents from national and local publishing houses, as well as workshops, a silent auction, and banquet dinners.

For the third year in a row I’ll be mixing it up with half-days of workshops, half-days of volunteering in the consult area, helping writers sign up for one-on-one and group sessions with agents and editors.  The experience is always inspiring, educational, and fun. Hope to see some of you there!

When she's not reading or writing (and sometimes when she is), she's homeschooling her two boys, serving as president of the Oregon Home Education Network board of directors, singing with her choir, or heading out into the beautiful Pacific Northwest for a hike or a camping trip.

Hopefully one year in the not too distant future I will have the opportunity to attend. Sounds like a good time. Have fun!
