Phil Wikelund, owner and manager of the Great Northwest Bookstore, has established a bank account to accept donations following the fire that destroyed
most of the store and its stock on May 2nd.
From today’s Shelf Awareness:
Wikelund plans to host a benefit and book sale to address the cost of demolishing the building. He has also created an account to help in the effort, called Phil’s Fire Fund, located at the On Point Community Credit Union. The address is P.O. Box 3750, Portland, Ore. 97208.
From the bookstore’s website:
On Wednesday midday a large dumpster will be placed in front of the store into which we will place the recyclable but otherwise unusable books damaged in the fire. We hope to raise work parties later that afternoon and from 10 am to 6 pm on Thursday and Friday. [Presumably, May 13 & 14, but check to make sure.]
