Starting today, Wordstock is celebrating their 2nd annual Books-to-Film festival. The theme of this year’s festival is “Cult Classic.” They have pulled together a cadre of films that not only started their humble lives as original novels, but have also enjoyed a passionate following of fans long after their initial film release.
The festival takes place today, Saturday May 1st and Sunday May 2nd at the McMenamin’s Kennedy School and Bagdad Theatres.
“Wordstock is all about getting people involved with books and this is just one exciting way to do that,” said Greg Netzer, Executive Director of Wordstock. “There’s a reason people watch this particular group of movies over and over, and we think it has to do with the material the filmmakers started with — the books.”
