Literary Arts has announced the lineup for the upcoming season of Portland Arts & Lectures, and it is impressive.  The season kicks off September 23rd with renowned Canadian author Margaret Atwood and Portland’s own Ursula K. Le Guin sitting down together for a conversation.  Following this will be Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Natasha Trethewey (October 21), Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Elizabeth Strout (January 25th, 2011), Pulitzer Prize-winning literary journalist Tracy Kidder (March 3rd, 2011), and Pulitzer Prize-winning comic artist Art Spiegelman (April 28th, 2011). In related Literary Arts news, they will be hosting Edwidge Danticat April 22nd as part of a fundraiser for Mercy Corps’ Haiti relief efforts, and on April 26th they will host Rigoberto González as part of the PEN World Voices Festival.  Finally, next Tuesday (4/6) at 10:30am Poetry in Motion will return after a three year hiatus with a kickoff celebration at the PCPA rotunda.  Oregon Poets, Judith Barrington and Paulann Petersen will open the event with a reading!
