The eight writers who make up the Portland Fiction Project are a wonderful embodiment of Portland’s literary culture. Their collaborative spirit. Their DIY ethos. Their commitment to consistent, high quality writing. All of these traits and more, brought to you in one neat little daily package.
Tomorrow (2-1) evening these traits will be on display as the writers take the stage for a reading dubbed “Love is Not Punny, It’s Surrealist” at The Maiden (639 SE Morrison). This “love-themed” event will feature flash fiction pieces and a special appearance from Ben Parzybok (Couch), who will read from his upcoming novel. The reading begins at 7:00 and will feature musical guests Sweeter Than Sooner (Kendra Carpenter – cello / Greg Thelen – guitar). Following the reading, the Pete Krebs Trio will get everyone in the mood for a little swing dancing!
You can learn more about the PFP on their Facebook and Twitter pages, and also by checking out Reading Local Portland’s series of interviews with the PFP writers.
