Shoppers looking for books on Alberta now have another option alongside Ampersand, as Green Bean Books, a new and used children’s bookstore located at 1600 NE Alberta, opened their doors for business yesterday.
You can check out some pictures of the store on their blog, and they have a Facebook fan page set up for store announcements as well. On July 30th they will have a “Grand Opening Extravaganza” from 5:30 to 9:00pm, featuring “books, balloons, and snow cones!”
According to an email from the stores owner Jennifer Green, Helen (Reading Local’s wonderful unofficial PR agent) plans to interview her this Thursday, and then submit it for publication on the site. I look forward to that, and plan on getting down to the store myself in order to take some pictures and find out exactly what this is all about.
It’s always great when you can post about a bookstore opening, as opposed to the seemingly never ending news of store closures. Please join me in welcoming Green Bean Books to the community!
