Today’s Featured Book Event:

simes_theextraElizabeth Sims Reading (Murder by the Book, @5:00pm): Starring Rita Farmer, a struggling Hollywood actress, single mom, law student, and amateur sleuth, The Extra is the sixth novel by author Elizabeth Sims, who lives on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. Dressed in a police costume as a movie extra, Rita scares off two would-be muggers attacking a young black boy. But when an actual cop who looks like Rita gets murdered, she realizes something far deadlier is going on. Also look for The Actress in which Rita is hired by a lawyer at $1,000 a day to teach a woman accused of murdering her baby how to be more sympathetic to a jury.
